goodbye denmark!
As I lay here in my Copenhagen bed, unable to fall asleep on my last night in Denmark, I find myself thinking of the night before I left for Denmark, another sleepless night. What a great experience I have had. How blessed I am! What wonderful friends I have made, and how sad it is to say goodbye. What a great way to end the semester with beautiful snow on the ground and Christmas spirit in the air. Bittersweet seems to be the word of the week. I am finally coming home to family, friends, sun, mexican food, and peanut butter! But it is not without saying tearful goodbyes to my dear friends that I have made aboard! I wish I could just take them to California with me! : ) I will also miss my daily danishes, my book cafe, my commute to school, shopping in between classes, my hans christian andersen class, living in Europe, pretending to be Danish, and paying $20 for my chicken burger at the laundry mat….well maybe not the $20 part : )
I am just reminded of how faithful the Lord is. I was unsure about even coming to Denmark, I was so nervous. But I know it has been the best decision I have made! From traveling the world, to being able to grow as a person, I will never forget my four months abroad. I am so grateful.
“Unfailing love comes with the morning, it’s your faithfulness we sing at night, it’s your kindness Lord that leads to our healing, all glory to our Maker, and a thousand Amens!”
